Evelyn McKnight is one of 99 Nebraskans infected with hepatitis C in 2000 while receiving treatment for cancer. She is one of the founders of the advocacy organization Hepatitis Outbreaks’ National Organization for Reform (HONOReform). McKnight helped the Center for Disease Control (CDC) develop the One and Only Campaign (“One Needle, One Syringe, Only One Time”). She serves as patient spokesperson for this campaign.
McKnight is co-author of A Never Event: Exposing the Largest Outbreak of Hepatitis C in American Healthcare History.
